Great "Night and Day" Buena Vista Street Videos

These two new videos of DCA Buena Vista Street are great! One is filmed on day and the other one at night but i strongly recommend you to watch them. The one filmed on daylight is the first one which will show you Buena Vista Street after opening, so with plenty of people, what is a normal day now at DCA with 40000+ guests coming in daily. And what is great is that it looks now, with the "life" that guests are bringing in, like if Buena Vista Street had always existed! And the night video is a beautiful one, too, so don't miss them!

DLP Update : World of Disney Store almost ready for its opening on July 12 !

It's not an attraction but for DLP it's one of the 20th anniversary big events: the opening of the big World of Disney Store, on July 12. Sure, for DLP execs, on an economy point of view the WOD opening may bring some cash in, and that's what we hope for them as DLP really needs it.

It would be difficult to find a better location for the World of Disney store: perfectly located at the exit of the Disneyland Paris or Walt Disney Studios parks as well that as at the entrance of the Disney Village area. It will be unmissable for all guests and you can bet that a majority of them will enter this new and fancy art-deco looking structure.

Thanks to my good friends from News Parcs, a great theme parks news web site that you can read in english HERE, i have some recent pictures to show you of the WOD outside and inside, as well as new concept-arts provided by DLP. Pictures were shot some days ago when the merchandise was not yet installed in the store, so its normal if the shelves are empty, but you can be sure that there will be more merchandise products than you can dream of in just two weeks from now.

Let's begin with the construction shot below, and outside views of the store.

As you may have noticed there will be two giant statues of Mickey an dMinnie at the entrance. Let's hope they will have enhanced the bronze patina before the opening...

Actually the giant dome over the entrance with Tinkerbell at the top will turn at slow speed all day long.

A large view and the concept-art of it of the inside of the store, with no products yet inside, as i told you.

A closer look to the giant balloon located at the center of the store, with Mickey and Pluto inside it.

At the entrance, another dome with a nice constellation with Disney characters flying among the stars...

...and the entrance concept-art.

More shots of the inside...

As you can see, close to the ceiling, there is some frescos showing Disney characters, designed with an art-deco style...

Here are some of the frescos visuals.

Sure, the design of the whole thing has a "fancy Disney art-deco" style but let's wait for the opening when everything will be in order, and with the good lighting to have a final and objective judgment about this new - and highly awaited by DLP fans - World of Disney Store!

Editor's Note: There is much more photos - paparazzi pictures - of Angelina Jolie as Maleficent HERE!

Cars Land envisioned for Shanghaî Disneyland ?

Editor's Note: There is something interesting in this UT San Diego article HERE. In an interview Jim Kearns, who was the project manager on Cars Land is talking about Ornament Valley rock work and the tremendous work that it has been to create all the mountains. And then the article, quoting him, is saying: "Kearns said similar rock work is planned at Disney's next big theme park in Shanghai, China". Does this mean that a Cars Land is envisioned for Shanghaî Disneyland? Not necessarily, may be what Jim Kearns mean was that some huge rock work will happen at SDL but it could be for another attraction. I remember someone telling me that the Lost World River Rapids raft ride with Audio-Animatronics Dinosaurs should have a great and big piece of rock work, so may be Jim was talking about this one.

Talking about Audio-Animatronics, Mice Age had yesterday a great article with Audio-Animatronics genius Garner Holt talking about his work with Disney Imagineering legend Bob Gurr. It's a fascinating look at the design that goes into some of the most massive animated props to ever be placed into themed environments. After your visit on D&M have a look at the article HERE.

Pixar's Monsters University First Teaser

Pixar released today the first teaser for the awaited Monsters University movie, to be released next year. Hmmm, i loved Monsters Inc but they will need to show me some scenes less conventional and hysterical than this university party if they want to count me in when the movie will be released. Have a look anyway, and above and below a first artwork and pictures also released today.

Production of Maleficent Movie Begins - First Picture of Angelina Jolie as Maleficent !

The production of the awaited Maleficent movie starring Angelina Jolie as Maleficent began on June 13, and we have the first picture of Angelina Jolie as Maleficent!

Edited: There is much more photos - paparazzi pictures - of Angelina Jolie as Maleficent HERE!

"The Walt Disney Studios announced today that production began Wednesday, June 13th, on “Maleficent,” starring Academy Award–winning actress Angelina Jolie. Directed by two-time Oscar-winning production designer Robert Stromberg (“Avatar,” “Alice in Wonderland”), in his directorial debut, and produced by Joe Roth, “Maleficent” is written by Linda Woolverton (“The Lion King,” “Beauty and the Beast”) and executive produced by Angelina Jolie, Don Hahn, Matt Smith and Palak Patel.

Co-starring in the film are Sharlto Copley (“District 9”), Elle Fanning (“Super 8”), Sam Riley (“On the Road”), Imelda Staunton (“Vera Drake”), Miranda Richardson (“The Hours”), Juno Temple (“Atonement”) and Lesley Manville (“Secrets & Lies”).

This is the untold story of Disney’s most beloved villain, Maleficent, from the 1959 classic “Sleeping Beauty.” The film reveals the events that hardened her heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora.

Behind-the-scenes talent includes Academy Award®–winning cinematographer Dean Semler (“Dances with Wolves,” “In the Land of Blood and Honey”), production designer Gary Freeman (“Saving Private Ryan,” “The Bourne Supremacy”), two-time Oscar® nominated costume designer Anna B. Sheppard (“Schindler’s List,” “The Pianist”) and seven-time Academy Award–winning makeup artist Rick Baker (“Planet of the Apes,” “Men in Black”)".

“Maleficent” is scheduled for a March 14, 2014 release in 3D, so you'll have to wait a bit to discover Angelina in this great villain role.

Another kind of "Cars Land" open at Walt Disney World !

We've spent almost the whole last week with video reviews of the awaited Cars Land and may be you thought that "that was it with Cars, let's talk about something else". Well, not really, as another kind of Cars "land" - if i can say - just opened at Walt Disney World! Yesterday, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort opened its "Cars" wing and brings “Cars” to life with 480 new family suites and a fully themed wing and pool.

Sure, this Cars wing theming doesn't have the splendor of DCA Cars Land and its stunning Ornament Valley but i think they did a pretty good job as you will see on the pictures and videos below - and the swimming pool looks great!

The Cozy Cone Motel anchors the “Cars” courtyard with its orange cone-shaped cabanas inviting guests to kick back and relax at the pool - which looks great - near Lightning McQueen, Mater, Sarge and other characters from the popular film.

Let's have a look inside the themed rooms...

And now, let's do a traveling inside the new wing, thanks to PopSong1 who did the two great videos below.
