Disneyland Paris Celebrates Its 21st Anniversary !

21 Years ago Disneyland Paris was opening its gates in France and the park is celebrating today its 21st Anniversary.  No pictures yet of what will happen today but i did last week in the park two cool videos for you and i suggest that we begin by the first one which show the newly refurbished Pirates of Caribbean.

No Jack Sparrow Audio-Animatronics has been added yet in the ride, but everyone is saying that they did a great work on the lighting and almost all effects and AAs are working, even the famous and DLP POTC version only pirates duelists although they still are not as perfect as they were 21 years ago. Also note that the filming begins with the first fall and the pirate ship as the video of the scenes before was definitely too dark. Hope you'll enjoy the ride anyway!

Let's move to Sleeping Beauty Castle or, more precisely, under the castle!...

...As the other video is a closer look to one of DLP greatest Audio-Animatronic, the dragon of "La Tanière du Dragon" located under Sleeping Beauty Castle, also another DLP exclusive, not to be missed when you visit the park. Here, too, they did some changes on the lighting some months ago and you can see better the part of the dragon body in the back.

Well I also shot normal pics and i have a selection of high-res pictures that should look great as wallpapers for your desktop but Photobucket don't work today so instead i've embedded the video of DLP Grand Opening which happened exactly 21 years ago! Don't forget too to follow me on the D&M Facebook page HERE.

And if you can't be in the park today, let the park come to you with the great Disneyland Paris book, the whole park in 320 pages with 750 photos! Don't miss too my HKDL Mystic Manor update below!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier Will be Released April 4, 2014 - and Legendary Robert Redford Will Play S.H.I.E.L.D Agent Alexander Pierce !

Disney announces today that the filming of the new Captain America movie: "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" just began in L.A and then will continue at Cleveland, Ohio, and Washington D.C.  The movie will pick-up where "Marvel's The Avengers" left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.”.

Chris Evans will be back as Captain America as well as Scarlett Johansson as the black Widow and Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury. But the big surprise is the arrival of legendary actor Robert Redford playing agent Alexander Pierce, one of the members of S.H.I.E.L.D! The movie will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo on a script from Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely and Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be released on April 4, 2014 in the U.S and on March 26 in France. Above, the first marketing picture released for the movie.

HKDL Mystic Manor AP Preview Will Start April 26 !

Yes, Mystic Point and the Mystic Manor attraction are opening soon at Hong Kong Disneyland and Magic Access Member ( Annual Pass Holders ) previews will happen on April 26, April 30, May 3 and May 4, the official opening date for all HKDL guests will be May 16!

So, in a bit more of two weeks from now we should have the first reviews and images from this highly awaited E-ticket!

Another interesting point about the Mystic Manor trackless ride vehicle system that many suppose to be the same than the one used for the TDL Winnie the Pooh ride or TDS Aquatopia: one of my reader - and apparently it's an information he had from an Imagineer at a D23 Expo - told me that "Neither Pooh's Hunny Hunt nor Aquatopia use either a GPS or LPS system".

"They use what WDI calls a Line-Wire system, which means that there is a wire buried in the concrete floor, and the ride vehicles follow the buried wire. This is why you can clearly see where the vehicles go on the floor with both of those rides. There are marks on the floor from the tires, and the vehicles always follow exactly the same patterns. So the rides are not really random at all, you just can't see the track. This is an advanced version of the ride system first used in Universe of Energy at Epcot.

I think that Mystic Manor will work the same way (this is what I was told by an Imagineer), but all the talk about bar code technology is confusing. There's no need to do that. Line-Wire is much better".

And, also interesting, he added: "I also think that the WDS Ratatouille will also use a Line-Wire system".

I tried to double-check this and in fact - if they didn't did any changes - the Pooh vehicles in the TDL ride are following a grid of sensors located in the floor - not a wire - and the vehicles confirm their locations three times a second, based on those coordinates. The Pooh vehicles are programmed to follow their paths and speed up or slow down to make their schedule. A quite complicated technology, even if it works well. We'll see if they use the same one in Mystic Manor.

Let's end with three never-seen-before model pics that another reader sent to me, the first one showing the boarding room...

...the next one showing the model for the Solarium room ( but i think i've heard that the scene has been deleted - not sure, though...

...and the last one showing the scene 8 - Armour room.

On this video you can see shortly ( from 4.10 min ) some of the props already in place in the armor room.

So, who will be at Mystic Manor preview on April 26?

Shanghaî Disneyland Rock Work Samples Pictures

Luke, from Luke and the Temple of Fun website has obtained several pictures of the construction samples in Shanghai Disneyland that will be used as a guide for the rock work later on.

Although he don't - and can't - know to which attractions these rock work samples are related it's interesting pictures and one of them - the picture above - features a wooden door frame, which looks a lot like the one in the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train's artwork below and that should be used in the attraction as Seven Dwarfs Mine Train's will be part of SDL Fantasyland.

I'm sure you'd like to see the other pics that Luke has posted so jump to Luke and the Temple of Fun right HERE.

New Interactive Game "A Pirate Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas" Coming to WDW Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney Imagineering just released a short video with WDI Imagineers  Jonathan Ackley and Matt Beiler talking about the new interactive quest called "A Pirate Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas" coming to WDW Magic Kingdom this summer.

"In the game, the fate of piracy in the Caribbean rests in the hands of new pirate recruits, who, armed with magic talismans and treasure maps, embark on five different pirate raids throughout Adventureland to collect valuable treasures, while Captain Jack Sparrow’s magic compass guides them".

The game special effects looks cool so this new interactive treasure quest game might become popular...
